    Thanks for visiting DeborahSharp.com. I'm a former USA Today reporter who left the news biz to write funny mysteries. MAMA RIDES SHOTGUN, the second in my Florida-set series, is just out. I did a six-day, cross-state, camping and horseback ride to research the setting. What was I thinking?? I hope you'll have a chance to read SHOTGUN, or my debut, MAMA DOES TIME(2008). They're traditional, with a Southern-fried edge: Agatha Christie meets ''My Name is Earl.''

    Like my main character, Mace Bauer, I'm a Florida native. And, my mama, like hers, can be a handful. But so far, I've never had to haul her butt out of jail or rescue her from a gator. Of course, she's only 90, so there's still time . . .
